About The Role:

As an AML Compliance Officer, you will manage day-to-day compliance operations, ensuring effective monitoring and strict adherence to applicable regulations. Your role includes supporting the ongoing development of the AML Compliance Risk Framework and elevating compliance reporting. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), you will be a key contributor to YAPEAL's overall risk and compliance strategy.

Expect a Day Full of:

  • End-to-End Due Diligence: Execute robust onboarding and due diligence for new corporate and private client relationships in alignment with YAPEAL’s risk classification.
  • KYC & KYT Ownership: Oversee and optimize Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Know-Your-Transaction (KYT) rules, controls, and transaction monitoring.
    Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for competent authorities and independently manage reporting to the Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland (MROS).
  • High-Risk Client Management: Conduct regular, meticulous reviews of high-risk customer relationships and complex client profiles.
  • Cross-Functional Defense: Monitor compliance control tasks in the 1st line of defense and independently process escalated 2nd line of defense cases.
  • Product & Innovation Shield: Serve as the internal competence center for compliance requirements, testing new system functionalities and ensuring new product features are compliant by design.
  • Risk Identification & Framework Evolution: Proactively identify regulatory risks based on legal and internal principles, driving the continuous development of our AML compliance framework.
  • Culture & Training: Organize and conduct engaging AML/CTF compliance training sessions across the organization.
  • Agile Support: Tackle ad-hoc compliance projects and tasks as the business scales.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • You have a genuine affinity for the fintech industry and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.

  • You bring proven experience in compliance functions, with a sharp focus on AML & CTF (Anti Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorist Financing) and sanction regulations.

  • As a tech-savvy compliance partner with a strong affinity for IT and AI, you actively leverage modern tools and explore emerging technologies to enhance our systems, reporting, and digital monitoring frameworks.

  • You possess a high degree of personal responsibility, initiative, and the ability to work independently.

  • You are fluent in (Swiss-)German with a strong, professional command of English.
